RIP Siouxie

Feel a bit sad. She was only 2. Keep thinking maybe it was something that could have been prevented, but she looks like she went in her sleep as she is all stretched out in the bit where she sleeps.

sorry to hear that lazarou, she was very young

ScarletA · 18/01/2008 12:11

So sorry, it is horrible to lose a pet.

biganddesperate · 18/01/2008 12:12

oh RIP Siouxie

Her eyes are open though. Don't think I will be getting another one. She was well sheltered with a cover over the hutch, and well ventilated. Do you think she will get dug up by other animals if i bury her in the garden?

she should be ok, what sort of animals visit your garden?

biganddesperate · 18/01/2008 12:31

could you put her in a shoe box, make sure she is buried deep enough and she should be fine

lazarou · 18/01/2008 12:35

well, there is some wasteland at the back and we get lots of rats and mice. Ive seen the rats, they're massive. I think we will put her in her furry igloo and then into a box in the ground, then maybe a little tree on top of that.

that sounds perfect.... really lovely

intrigued abot the furry igloo... think my rabbits could do with one to keep them warm.. where was it from..?

lazarou · 19/01/2008 13:08

It was from Pets at Home. We also got a plastic disc with a cover on it that you put in the microwave and it stays warm for 12 hours. We put that in when the weather was very cold and she would sit on it.

oh bless her

i did buy a plastic igloo thing but mine are to big for it... they are dwarf lops.....
i will go and have a look in there, is it from the cat section or bunny?

hope your bunny RIP......

will you get another bunny in the future?

lazarou · 19/01/2008 14:34

The bunny bit. I also bought a couple of covers for the hutch. ONe is a thermal cover to regulate the temperature and the other is a raincover. Both by scratch and newton, they were from pets at home as well. Very useful for this awful weather.
We won't be getting another rabbit, it's horrible finding them dead. We haven't said anything to the kids, they're too little to understand, but ds2 did go up to the hutch earlier and was looking for her
