Has anyone ever used trusted house sitters? Or any other organisation?

Going away for a week soon and have just realised that the dog won’t cope with the journey or holiday due to his age. Also have two cats which were going to someone but they sound reluctant now.

Ive called a few places but they’re all booked up. Any suggestions / recommendations?

I’m on the point of using them for the first time, so hope someone pops along soon with reassuring stories!

Not as a pet owner but as a sitter - I'm on this one not the one you've mentioned. And I love it. Many lovely sits, good reciprocal experiences, grateful house and pet owners. It's most certainly worth your time and trust to try it out. Anyone who's been doing it for a while has reviews.

Advice - post some nice pics of your house, not just your dog! Remember that you're looking for a pet sitter, but your sitter is also looking for somewhere nice to stay for a week. That's why it's reciprocal. Good luck! 😊

Thanks for the advice. Just waiting for it to go live on the system 🤞

I’ve just had a really lovely chat with a couple via Trusted Housesitters and have my most urgent five days covered now. They seem committed and have booked accommodation nearby for the night before we need them. I will report back at the end of the month!

I have also tried to sign up for HousesittersUK, but profile not approved yet.

I used Trusted Housesitters a few years ago and it was absolutely fine. Ended up with a couple who were moving back to the UK from France, but their new accommodation wasn't ready, so they spent a fortnight at our home while we were in a different part of France.

I haven't needed to use them since (always found a willing friend/relative) but would definitely go back to them if I needed to.

Just to update, we used house sitters UK, it was great. A young woman who is travelling around the UK looked after the animals and we gave her free rein of the house, bikes, food etc. She was lovely and it worked out really well for both of us.

We use Trusted housesitters. It has worked brilliantly for us the 3 times we have used them.

Report back….Trusted Housesitters fabulous. Lovely couple who left the house spotless, sent regular pics of the dogs and filled up the car we’d lent them!

Using Housesitters UK later this month and hope it works as well.
