HAS ANYONE ADOPTED AN EX-BATTERY CHICKEN?

The plan has always been when the garden is completed this spring that we are going to get chickens.

I admittedly wanted them from chicks, but DH suggested we rehome ex-battery, and i think its a great idea.

Has anyone done this and is there any kind of procedure? we have a good sized garden but we do live in a housing area, saying that we have a 6 foot fence all round our garden so it will be secure!

Is there anything I should know before applying?
Are there adoption fees ect?

Do they ask about kids and things?

Thanks!

being a new chickedn owner, I would have a caged in run area for then.

Otherwise they do tend to make your garden a bit of a mess... chicken poo everywhere.

Hiya

the lady has gotten back to me with some info and a care sheet,

she says to ring her to answer some questions then we can go on the list!

Any ideas what the questions may be? Or how long you are on the list for?

Thanks!
