Im really upset, cant focus and feel physically sick with worry. My 1 year old male, neutued and chipped cat has gone missing. Ive put posters up knocked on doors, posted a missing ad on Facebook, walked the streets everything. I just need him back. Hes black with four white paws and slightly fluffy. Last seen wearing an orange collar. Its been 4 days now and not a single sighting. He rarely leaves the garden so this is very unusual. My eyes are swollen from all the crying. Missing from birstall leicester. Please can i hear of some positive stories.

Hiya sorry to hear this. Just wanted to offer some reassurance as I’ve just been through the same thing. My one year old neutered Male disappeared for eight days last week. I walked the streets calling him, posted all over Facebook and the Nextdoor app, knocked on doors and nothing.

On Friday I put my unwashed bedding that he slept on and his bed and some vacuum cleaner contents outside. Saturday morning I opened the door and he came running in as if he’d never been away.

I’m not sure if he was lost and the things I put out helped him find his scent of home, I have a feeling he has been fed as he was no thinner. I guess I’ll never know but I really really hope the same happens for you. Don’t give up hope! xxx

Have you contacted the microchip database? Please do, they will flag him as missing and more importantly you can check that your contact details are correct!
I used to work reception at a vets & you wouldn't believe the amount of times the contact numbers were out of date, or people had never sent off the paperwork.

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. I hope that your gorgeous boy returns to you soon.

I had a cat go missing for days. We found her beneath the floorboards of a neighbour's house. He wad having some work done. Check to see if there's anyone near you having work done on their house and have them check their outbuildings if they haven't already. A friend's cat went missing for a week and was found locked in a garage.

One of cats was missing for 4 nights and she came back one morning exhausted and hungry.
I had put her used blanket on the washing line hoping she would smell it and find her way home. I like to think it worked.
Definitely try local Facebook and WhatsApp groups if available.
It's definitely very upsetting not knowing where your beloved pet is and I hope your cat is back home with you soon.

My cat went missing for 10 days during lockdown. We spent the first few days searching all over the village despite advice saying they're usually not far and most likely got spooked and disorientated after running. I got a call from someone the next street over after 6 days saying they'd spotted her in their garden but she got spooked when the woman saw her and ran in the opposite direction to our house. I kept going to the few streets in that direction and found her down an alleyway on day 10 just two streets over. She was a bit shy and was watching me from behind a bin but as soon as I said her name she miaowed. I put some food down a metre or so away and she gradually came towards it. I sat waiting quietly and when she was finished she came to me. She's not a smart cat so if you'd asked me before I'd never have believed she could survive 10 days on her own.

Our cat went missing for over a week and came wandering back in on Christmas Day morning like nothing had happened! Most of the cats we've owned have disappeared for a couple of days at one point and returned safe and well. They're notorious for it, little buggers!

One of mine went missing for a month. Don't worry. Put posters up telling neighbours to check sheds and garages. Contact the microchip data base and council notifying them he's missing. If you have facebook post on all your local group regularly that your cats missing. Put posters in shops , lamp posts anywhere and everywhere. Be warned you do get sick people phoning the number you put on posters.
