I adopted a 2 year old Romanian rescue dog seven weeks ago After settling in we recently began our daily walks around the streets where we live. I purchased a Julius K9 harness. I thought it was a good fit. However the other night on our walk, we passed a garden with a large hedge and containing two yappy little dogs. We couldn't see them but my dog froze. With Romanian rescues they get spooked easily and all they want to do is run away. I tried to coax her forward away from them but she began to buck and wriggle away and in doing so completely wriggled out of the harness and ran round the corner towards the main road which is normally busy but being the evening, luckily the traffic was a trickle. The guy who lives at the said house came out and asked what my dogs name was and proceeded to follow my dog. I am disabled and use a mobility scooter I was in a predicament. My heart was in my mouth. I followed expecting to hear the sound of screeching brakes. However further down the main road I could see the guy coming towards me with my dog. To say I was relieved is an underestimation. The guy said someone further down had got hold of my dog. So, connecting the lead onto her collar, I thanked the guy and continued on our walk. Sorry, that was a bit longwinded. I'd like to know what harnesses you dog parents purchased and would recommend. 🤗
