If there is no such thing as a 'bad' ddog just bad owners should someone be held accountable here?
Just back from taking ddog for annual jabs. Saw a ddog getting pulled from a car wearing a muzzle. I mentally sympathised as previous ddog had one as prob lots of vet haters do! The woman came in to ask if they had a different one as he kept getting it off and was very aggressive. Her manner was lighthearted and she chatted happily.. Apparently the ddog had mauled her dsis last night. And on Xmas day. The ddog was previously trained to attack and kept in a builder's yard for a year... This family felt sorry for it and took it home. Presumably with owner's agreement. Food had been just thrown at it. As was how the woman fed him also and he had attacked her once.
She also mentioned he had dragged her 7yo dc into the back garden recently.. My stomach was churning given recent news..
She showed no emotion at all yet I was welling up.
He was getting pts there and then. The receptionist got a muzzle and the ddog and the woman went into a room.
Why weren't the police involved? Ss if her dc had been attacked? Nobody is being held accountable for the life and death of this beautiful ddog.. Well he would have been if he had been taken better care of. His skeleton was highly visible.. His fur was in terrible condition... I am so angry this has affected me yet she just stood there chatting as if he was getting his claws cut! Will the vet scan him and report the registered owner? I want someone to never be able to get another ddog! I did say a few comments then stfu as I prob would have made things worse... For me not that poor boy..
Very upset!!

It was the worst condition ddog I have seen irl. It was a 2 year old Malinois..

Oh OP that's awful. So many dogs deserve so, so much better than they get. We really need some sort of licensing scheme / registration for dog ownership.

I can totally understand a distraught owner having to PTS if they have done absolutely everything they can to help a 'difficult' dog (I have one myself, although she isn't a biter), sometimes it's the kindest and safest thing for everyone. But this just sounds like the dog never even had a chance from Day 1 to be a 'good' dog, and was seen as totally disposable. Heartbreaking. I hope he's running free and happy at rainbow bridge now.

Can't understand why police weren't involved. By law he would be chipped - his abuser traceable... Makes me so sad... My ddog needs surgery and we are planning her aftercare. That boy had no chance of any care.
Sad
