Essential oil burner and cats

I got given an organic essential oil and a burner (the one where you put a tealight candle underneath and then you dilute a couple drops of essential oil on some water at the top). I've read a lot of the danger of essential oil to cats. A lot of the information I've read online refer to the oil diffuser where tiny droplets of the steam can fall on your pet or can stay in a surface and then get in contact with your pet. As it's a burner, has anyone got one with pets and just used it for 20 mins to give the house a nice scent? If it is safe to use and if we do use it, it will not be left unsupervised and will be out away after each use. I'm just worried the scent itself in the air will be dangerous to my cat?

Some of the oils are actually harmful, some good info here saying risks are low if very diluted but to avoid nebulised diffusers.

My small suggestion is don't applying essential oil as burner into your cats. Because it may be affect your cat skin external part. So better to avoid applying essential oil as burner into your skin cat. Please take your cat to veterinary doctor.
