Labrador not that interested in food…

…Which I know is unusual in itself! 1 year old lab, normally gobbles her kibble down within seconds of it hitting the floor but for the past two weeks it just sits in her bowl for a couple of hours or more before she has a sniff and eventually will eat it. She seems okay within herself. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts as to why she is not fussed about food anymore. Not sure whether we should have her checked at the vets but I know if we took her she would go bounding in and it would seem there is nothing wrong!

Our first pet - also a Labrador - went off food and we soon realised we’d been over feeding him. Once we measured the food properly each time he was back to gobbling it down.

Thank you @HarryBlaster . I do measure it each day and if anything we give her slightly under the recommendation on the bag of food, but it’s a possibility!

When my obsessed food dog went off his food , it turned out to be an ear infection which somehow affects the jaws and makes eating very painful.
He started eating within 24h of starting treatment.
He's on dry food, but at that time he wouldn't consume any texture of food that's how bad he was. We tried everything.

Another cause might be a tummy problem.

Anything that would cause discomfort from eating basically.

Have you tried different food?

I second the other advice regarding quantities. Ignore everything the food label says.

I also have a Labrador who stopped eating last week. But it coincided with a food change, which I had been introducing slowly. When the time came to only give him the new food on its own, he would not eat it. A Labrador. He eats everything even cucumber. The new food is Hills for mobility and weight loss. He just doesn't like it at all. So I put a few kibbles in from my other dogs food and he eventually eats it, if I add nothing he refuses it.

Is it something similar to this OP?

I'm also not sure what to do now. Of course I bought the biggest bag never thinking he'd be fussy.

My other dog also loves her grub but she goes off hers more often. I think she gets a uti as a couple of times she been quite raw from licking herself.
