My cat was missing for 2 months, came home, kept in for 3 weeks and now has disappeared again

Ov. he has a second home, but he has Feline Lower Urine Tract disease, and was shot last year which could lead to arthritis in later life due to the bullet still being inside him (couldn;t be removed due to it being to close to the nerve) I put a collar on him when he returned in dec. but how can I stop whoever is feeding him..??

You can have a collar made that says not to feed him

thanks I know he is loveable but I wish that whoever is feeding him would not do it. He cost me over £300 in december because he has a raging bladder infection due to the FLUTD which is brought on by stress or the wrong food..

Our cat used to stay away for days and come back looking fat. I wrote his name and 'please do not feed me' in permanent marker on a collar and now h comes back every day.

I found it really annoying but on reflection I suppose whoever was feeding him probably thought he was a stray.

yes, he was shot with a high powered air rifle, it shattered his femar into 10 pieces. the vet had to pin his leg back together.

Get him tagged (not much sleep-- whats it called again?) a little transmitter thing under the skin of his ear that registers on the equipment vets have as belongs to you at such and such address. Then put a collar on him which says in bright colours 'Dont feed-medical problems-return to owner'. The tagging isn't much, last time I checked it was under £50.

It's horrible when they don't come home. He's probably sitting on some old biddy's knee and will come home when he's ready.

That doesn't sound consoling like I meant it to.
I mean as opposed to out in the cold and miserable.

I know, I will order one of those collars as soon as he returns again..

he is back again, was just sitting on the window ledge mieowing to come in, he came in and is now slobbed out on the rug...

i have the same problem, my cat went in september then came back the other day looking huge (possibly as i havent seen him for so long)

I had one that was stolen from a 'do-gooder' who works for cat protection league and my tom went missing at the same time but she swears blind it wasnt her that had him

he is still wearing the collar i got him though....

makes me angry, i wouldnt feed someone elses cat unless it was painfully thin!

It's probably some old lady who feeds everyone's cats! All you can do is take the advice given on this thread. I had 2 cats who were being fed by my next door neighbour (she feeds every cat in the neighbourhood) so basically I let her have them - they weren't eating my food and rarely came home. I have 2 dogs now! I still feel I'm a cat person but I love my greyhounds!

he came back today He is still fat.. He has a collar on now with his name, my mobile no. and 'DON'T FEED ME' on it
