Puppy staying in kennels

So we have a holday booked in April for 2 weeks, our puppy will be around 5 months old and we are planning to leave him in the kennels located in our village. He would be sharing a kennel with our other dog who's 8. Do you think it will be ok? I could ask friends to have him but then my other dog might feel anxious if she is left by herself (she has stayed there previously)

Can you book them in for an overnight before then?
Do they normally sleep together or are they crated?

The puppy is crated but they sleep in the same room, I might do the one night before that's a good idea

No I wouldn’t put mine in kennels, how about a home boarder for the pair of them? Or a family/friend for the pair?

All our friends already have dogs, so it's too much for them. A home boarder could be an idea, I just like that the kennels are in our village close to home. We've booked the vacation a year ago so we can't cancel

Ours went into kennels when she was five months. Or at least that was the plan. The kennel owner took one look at 2kg of adorable Jack Russell and decided she’d stay in their house! She’d have been fine without the VIP treatment.

What about a pet-sitter who stays in your home with them?

I'll be interested to hear how it goes if you decide to do it. Our puppy also shares the utility room with our older dog. Our older dog is used to kennels but puppy hasn't been yet.

We put both our whippets 10months and 3 months in kennels they were fine

I wouldn’t be comfortable with that tbh. A week at a push, two weeks no way. We had our dog for 13 years, we never put him in kennels, I would have worried and it would have spoiled my holiday.

Our dpuppy went into kennels at 5 months with our ddog 6!! More than fine. They get excited pulling into the kennel yard now!!

God no. Never in a million years

Our old DDog went into kennels once for a week. It was just down the road. He absolutely hates it and was scared everytime we walked past it after he stayed there. He was a pretty chill dog generally.

Agree with a petsitter, have a look at Pawshake or Google local home boarders.

When I dropped them off last time ddog went off with the woman and didn't even look back!!
