Dogs + baby in car

Hello,

I need some advise please.

I am currently pregnant and have two dogs (Maltese and miniature poodle).

Thinking with health and safety in mind, when I need to travel with full family (includes the dogs of course) how do I go about doing this comfortably for everyone.
At the moment we use a large crate for both my girls to fit in, they have a cosy mattress and they just go to sleep when inside.
But once baby arrives there won't be space for the crate and baby chair... And I want to adjust my girls to new ways of travelling before baby arrives.
Any thoughts?
I could leave dogs at home, but sometimes it is a day out, so not an option.
Thank you in advance

Smaller crate? If they are toy dogs then they don't need a huge crate - in fact if it's a big one, it could be less safe for them in the event of a crash: www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwelfare/pets/dogs/environment/crates

A back seat crate next to your child instead? My cat (not the same I know) has her travel crate held in with the seat belt when we go anywhere with her.

Upgrade the car to an estate car so the cage can go in the boot?

We just have a crate in the boot. You can get them to fit pretty much any type of car. We are using the same one in our SUV that we used in our much smaller hatchback previously.

We have one of these: mimsafeuk.com/

Crate in the boot or smaller ones that fit better. Alternatively harness attached to the seat belt
