I think we have fleas Shock from our cat. I need to use spray in the house but have no idea where to start.

Can anyone recommend spray I can use when 2 of my children have asthma?

Where should I spray it? Carpets, beds?

All advice very much welcomed, thank you!

Not sure about recommending anything with the children having asthma. When you spray it, you need to do all the floors - carpets, aswell as hard floors - and all down the skirting boards and in crevices. Bedding should be washed at 60. Normally you spray with the windows open and leave for a while before going back in. You do need to treat the house as well, otherwise there is not much hope of getting rid of them!

Oh - and each can will be enough for a certain area (see instructions) - you will probably need more than one can.

Indorex for the house. Spray it everywhere, move furniture, and especially especially round the edges.

For the cat a decent flea treatment from the vets like advocate.

Thank you both. I'm just uncertain about the asthma issue. They have mild, well controlled asthma but bit nervous re the chemicals .

Should I spray it on mattresses? Thank you

I don't know re mattresses - I probably wouldn't - just wash everything on 60. I second Indorex - maybe it might have some information re asthma etc on the label...

Thank you all.

I've used Indorex on mattresses and duvets in the past, I just leave the window open and door shut for as long as I can and it's been fine.

What are you treating the cat with? Not all the products work.

STEAM MOP steam everything. Kills eggs and larvae. Works a treat

Thanks @Brusca and @midlifecrash.

Which steam mop and do I need a particular cleaning product too? Thanks

It’s the boiling steam that does it. One you can use on furniture and curtains not just floors would be best. Lots of threads on here about makes.
