Lost cat

My cat is missing, she was last seen on Wednesday, I’m absolutely distraught. I feel like I’ve done everything and yet not enough☹️

I have a question, I’ve always heard cats can smell their owners scent, so if I was to walk around the neighbour with my cats bedding that she shares with my other cats will that give her a better sense of direction?

Have you put the contents of your Hoover/litter tray outside? I assume you've posted leaflets through your neighbours doors asking them to check their sheds/garages etc? Posted on Facebook/Twitter/next door etc?

Yes walk the streets with your smell if you want, it may help. Go when it's quieter out in case you can hear her locked in anywhere, when you call her name.

Go out later in the evening when traffic is quiet and shout their name. They can be really close to home but just gone a bit too far and can’t remember how to get back.

Put bedding and, if possible, used litter outside in your garden so they can smell it.

Post on your local Nextdoor.co.uk site and local Facebook groups.

Leaflet local streets asking people to check sheds and garages.

Posters in local shops/lampposts. Someone phoned DM 2 weeks after her cat had gone missing as they had seen it in their garden. They caught him and dropped him round!

Phone local vets in case an injured cat has been taken in -is she chipped?

I hope she turns up soon.
