I've heard really good things about them, but I don't know anything through personal experience. The Kennel Club may have some breed information. The dog mags, Dogs Today and Your Dog have regular breed profiles.

thank you.

have been browsing the web and they seem to tick all the boxes for what we want in a dog. dh isnt so keen on them when all groomed as they do look a bit odd, but also look very sweet.

have a look on petplanet site, they have quite good descriptions. It does mention can have high aggression levels on there. The site has a good 'find the breed to suit your family' type search

If a Bedlington's still ticking all the boxes, start looking for a breeder. You'll find out a lot from the breeders. Again, the Kennel Club is a good place to start looking and they have lots of helpful information about how to recognise a bone fide breeder.

When we decided to get a dog we did quite a lot of research into Vizlas but ended up with collies!

Bedlingtons are a very good choice! I have one and he is the most fabulous pet - soft as putty and really good with kids.

I'm not sure why the petplanet refers to aggression - I know quite a few Bedlingtons and they are all really friendly.

BTW, you can sometimes find them at rescue centres - mine is a rescue dog. There are quite a few breeders around, but if you like the idea of rescuing a dog then you could try www.bedlington-terrier-rescue.co.uk/
