MISSING CAT

My 6 month old cat has gone missing for 2, almost 3, days! She has only been outside one time for 4 hours, now being her second. But this time she's out and I'm starting to lose hope of her coming back ☹️

I've put her litter tray and food outside but at night the fox eat her food. I've went out looking for her, put missing posters up and talked to my neighbours around the block.

I'm thinking, will she know how to get home? What else can I do? And is this normal for "indoor" cats to be out this long?

Keep looking and talking to people, but can you also hang your cat's blanket or bed outside the house? The smell might help to guide her home. Cats are outdoorsy, surprisingly tough creatures by nature, so there's hope for her yet.

Ive just put my blanket outside that she sometimes rests on and a suitcase that she sleeps on every night so hopefully she smells it and comes home soon 🥺

I had another cat who loved going in and out the house, he would come home every few hours so I wasn't too worried. But I've never had to deal with a cat going missing for more than 12 hours so it's all new to me. Thanks for the helpful reply!

I've had a number of cats disappear for a few days and come back. Only one that never came back at all.
The most likely thing is that it has got shut in someone's garage or shed and will come home when the door is next opened.

Check your own shed/garage etc. if you have one. My cat went missing for 5 days - searched everywhere (including garage) - gave up hope. Then DH went into the garage to get something & found the cat in there - him walking through the patio doors with her in his arms remains as one of the amazing moments of my life. She must have been for an extended wander when we first searched the garage and sneaked in after we'd crossed it off our list.

Everything crossed that yours comes back.

Knock on doors or put out leaflets asking people to check there sheds

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but put the cats litter tray, toys and blankets outside. She's likely trapped somewhere. Let us know how you get on

This brings me hope! She's an indoor cat and if she does go outside she goes in the garden only so hopefully one of my neighbours will spot

Awwww that's a lovely moment I wish to have! I check my my shed and the roof of my neighbours shed and garden to see if she's walking along them but it's always empty. But I'll defo keep looking!

Yes I'm praying that there'll be a positive update soon, I've just put as many things as I can outside. Thanks!
