How many pets do you have?

And what are they? Just curious really :) I'm a big animal lover but my partner is less keen, I'd definitely have more!

We have previously had guinea pigs and hamsters, sadly all died now.

Still have a staffy and a whippet (and would like another whippet or greyhound!)

Anyone got an unusual pets or breeds? Smile

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles
My girls are all different, but none bite.
One can be a bit aloof, but will come to me for a fuss when she feels like it, one sleeps on my feet every night without fail, and the other climbs all over me and loves attention. The little weirdo also loves to look in bags, if there's a bag around, Jemima needs to see what is in itConfused

Silkiescatz · 05/09/2021 18:38

We have to be careful with carrier bags as Silkiecat thinks they are the perfect size to sleep in. She does bite and scratch anyone who doesn't meet her standards but had a very gentle female cat growing up.

lillylemons · 05/09/2021 18:58

3 hens that my daughter incubated earlier this year and 5 quail.
Would love a dog but DH is not keen on the idea he like animals but is not really into having pets.

DameDaffodil · 05/09/2021 18:58

We have 2 whippets, 2 Shetland ponies, 2 horses, 2 goats, 2 sheep, a very handsome, huge rooster and about 20 hens. Love them all! There's never a dull moment!

weegiemum · 05/09/2021 19:05

3 guinea pigs
2 rabbits
1 cat
1 dog (labradoodle)

I've kept guinea pigs since I was a child, but love all our pets. The dog officially belongs to dd2 but he's mine really as he spends all his time with me when she's at college.

Trinacham · 05/09/2021 19:10

I just have 2 cats now. They are Ragdoll cats, which are awesome. They are a really laidback, affectionate breed.

I used to have lots of guinea pigs. Have had rats in the past, African Pygmy hedgehog, Chameleons, dogs (beautiful dalmatians).

We have Whippets/Italian Greyhounds in the family! If we ever get a dog (work full time so don't feel like it's fair at the minute, and a baby on the way) we would like this sort of dog. The ones in the family are such wonderful family dogs.

Notdoingthis · 06/09/2021 22:38

2 cats
10 fish
I'd rather have none but most people, including my dc, seem to like pets.

millerpie · 06/09/2021 22:48

Seven dogs and one bunny who thinks he’s a dog.

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 06/09/2021 23:06

@millerpie 7 dogs! Wow what breeds are they?

You want unusual pets. I've come to the right place haha.

I have a 10 year old cocker spaniel, Charlie. A 10 year old Axolotl, 3 x 14/15 year old Chinese Fire Bellied Newts (I've had them 12 years and got them as adults), a bristlenose pleco and guppies.

Seven cats. Which is the entire cat population of the small offshore Irish island where I live.

Five are mine. That sounds odd. But in deep rural Ireland cats live outside and are expected to feed themselves. So the cat of a neighbour who is else a good man arrived here and now stays as long as he can be fed. Man said with resignation that he comes where the foo di. then LOOK AT HIS HAIR, as the poor wee lad was skinny and rough coated,. Named Tonto as the cat who collected him is a lone Range
The second island cat is one who was well cared for but his owner died, so somehow he gravitated here.. Now called Dominic

My five... One is seventeen years old, so much loved and so loving. Boycat. I took in the whole litter of three but the other two are no more.
JACOB is a big lovely lad but younger.

Three years ago I lost my dog and a beloved cat the same weekend, My kind family told me to get three more cats. Ireland has abundant strays. So I gathered in the younger three from a Romanian lady who needed home as she was pregnant and was rehoming. They are Bella, Oliver and a part oriental , Selkie.

Bliss is a house full of cats.

LadyCatStark · 08/09/2021 12:16

We have a Labrador puppy and 2 horsfield tortoises. They are kept well apart though!

Beamur · 08/09/2021 12:20

3 cats
1 dog
Used to have guinea pigs but my last one died recently and I won't have any more now.
Two of my cats are pedigrees. I'm not really a dog person. When the pooch shuffles off her mortal coil we will only have feline overlords.

readytostand22 · 08/09/2021 12:31

A Yorkshire terrier who is asleep on my bed, two bunnies that are currently hopping around the garden and 4 fancy goldfish!

lyntheyresexpeople · 08/09/2021 12:49

Just one, she's a ragdoll cross, and is the best cat in the world, ever. I'll hear nothing else Grin

Only 1 cat 😫 would love more but boyfriend isn't keen, planning on getting a hamster for my dds 10th birthday which he isn't happy about 😅😅😅😅

cheeseislife8 · 08/09/2021 13:01

1 dog, 3 cats and a snake!

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 08/09/2021 14:08

@SoloISland do they all get along or mostly avoid? I'd heard cats don't tend to get on unless they're litter mates but don't know how true that is!

@Dipsydoodlenoodle blimey! I don't even know what some of those are 🤣 never had anything exotic. Are they tame?

1 cat and 1 dog. They make me so happy. I'd like more.

I want to live on an Irish island with 7 cats, please.

We are still working on the two newbies. But I live in a remote place with abundant space so they can choose who they are with.

But no that is not true re only getting on if they are litter mates. Like us they have preferences. I find Boycat curled up with various cats quite happily and the same with the others

Slow work with the local outdoor pair still, and Dominic likes to think he owns the place... lol...Cats are highly skilled at avoidance too. But love a warm furry body to curl up with.

Just like us. lol...

Anordinarymum · 08/09/2021 14:35

I have a Pug who is my best friend and three aging Siamese cats.
When the fallout of lockdown becomes apparent I will take a rescue dog.

Well, you never know what the future holds... I knew I wanted to be here and always had my own cats but did not plan this situation.. lol... It iS lovely though. I was out at first light picking berries in the peace surrounded by the ocean with three of the cats... As long as you can cope with off the scale gales in winter...
