Any frog owners out there?

My Ds has been going on about getting a frog for a couple of years now. I’ve been reading up on them and it all looks fairly manageable, from what I can tell it looks like more work maintaining the actual temperature and humidity etc. than it is managing to look after the frog itself.

Any tips/ advice at all? Ds is after either a tree frog or a dart frog of some description. He’s aware that he won’t be able to handle it at all, he’s just fascinated by them. Are there any that are easier to keep alive than others?

Be aware they must eat live food. My 14 year old DS spent ages trying to find a frog he could have that didn't require live food, you just can't .

I can manage the live food as luckily my sister works in a lab that deals with lots of flies and crickets. I can’t cope with them but she’s said she’s happy to deal with that side of things.

I had frog at one point, despite them being kept in an appropriate tank the crickets did escape frequently and I used to only realise when I heard the little buggers in random locations around the house 🤨
