Flea Panic! Help!

Neighbours cat keeps coming in and I, as a cat lover haven't exactly discouraged it. Found flea poo on fur and mentioned it to neighbour as didn't want their little ones bitten. She wasn't too impressed (understandably!) and said cat had been front lined, flea collar etc so I thought oh ok, be ok to have him in. However, am still finding flea poo when comb him (but haven't seen a single flea or been bitten).

Will not be letting him in any more which is going to kill me as he's a lovely little thing and he waits outside our door a lot, but now I'm panicking that once we no longer have the cat, we will have an infestation and in a flap about what spray to use as DS is only 18months old.

We have laminate/stone floors down stairs and I hoover regularly but am freaking that they are lying dormant or something.....

Help!

There is a brand new spray for the house your vet should have - or be getting in really soon. We have had it at ours for a week. It is not an insecticide and totally safe around children, pets, fish etc etc unlike some of the other preparations you can get. I'm really sorry I cant remember the name of it right now, but I'll check it out on Monday and post again for you.

Oh fantastic! I don't think we have anything as heating has been on most of week, cat is now out and no bites on any of us so am hoping the fact we have wooden floors etc has saved us but will be v handy to have in the house just in case!

Its really horrible having to say no to the cat though - he's hovering around hopefully in the rain...would love to just front line him and be done with it but can't as he's not my cat and if his owners do it shortly after we do, it could poison him so being cruel to be kind....

Fuck Fuck crap crap!!

Cat has been out since Friday and we are now seeing fleas!!!! Only 3 so far but am feeling disgusted and itchy!

Have hoovered frantically as I know that helps and going to get a list of vets tomorrow so that we can try ring around to try and get the skooch...am worried they won't have any and we have to use one with insecticides and it will be bad for DS! I mean we can keep him off the rug/carpets for 12 hours but what about after that??!!

Am such a twat for letting cat in! Neighbour didn't believe me when I told her....hope she gets bloody bitten and then maybe she'll get her arse in gear and look after her cat fecking properly!!!

Let us know how you get on. I haven't had any feedback about it from real life people - only the blurb the company give us about efficacy.

Good luck!

I didn't believe the vet when she told me one of my dogs had fleas at their last check up in june, but they BOTH did.
They are also Frontlined regularly and very well looked after.
Yes the stupid neighbour should have believed you and checked but maybe you should also get your own cat?
Flease are part and parcel of having furry animals!

Would love love love to get my own cat but we go to see my family for the weekend quite a lot and they already have an old, territorial and grumpy cat which hates other cats in the house, so I don't think its fair to get a cat and then keep subjecting it to a cattery for weekends or taking it on the drive (2hrs) when mums cat no longer around....

VVV tempting but am so conscientious, I'd feel guilty putting it in a cattery....
