Does anyone know at what age rabbits can get pregnant (how young they can be IYSWIM)?

about two months I think.

If you have several in the same hutch, they should be separated as soon as they are weaned iirc

Ah thanks for that. We got a brother and sister in early October when they were about 7 weeks old. We have every intention on getting them neutered but our vets said they don't do it until they are about 5 months old but the female wouldn't be able to get pregnant until she was about 6 months anyway so shouldn't be a problem.

We caught them 'at it' several times the other day so was wondering if she could in fact now be pregnant. I've looked on a few websites but they all seems to vary in the age they give.

I remember that when we were kids, we looked after the school rabbit during the summer hols and it had managed to get itself pregnant whilst locked permanently in a single hutch!

Anyway, I remember my mum begging rabbit hutches off all the neighbours so that there wouldn't end up with even more of them (iirc, she had 9 babies) and after the six weeks, she made the headmaster come and collect them all.

So, she must have been worried about babies having babies within a couple of months (that's where I was going with this long story

9 babies in one litter!? We're going to get a cheap hutch or borrow one from someone/somewhere if she does turn out to be pregnant so we can seperate them straight away as I read the female can get pregnant as soon as she has had the babies and one litter is more than enough

Eek, I'd be changing vets if I were you! You will have baby bunnies on your hands....

our rabbit had 13 babies apparently they can have 19 but if they have too many sometimes they wont feed the weaker ones and let them die, they can get pregnant straight away and then there is more chance of them not feeding all the babies as mamies body wont be up to it yet could you get the boy fixed?
