Our beloved cat died - comforting the kids :(

Our beloved cat died. He was 16 years old but it was a shock.

Any suggestions for comforting young children? They are very upset and my brain is scrambled because I'm also very upset.

Oh my darling. Big love. Be gentle on you all

Very sorry you've lost your cat Flowers.
It depends on the age of your children, but the book 'Goodbye Mog' may help.

Thank you both. I will purchase Goodbye Mog - we are fans of the series so that might work well.

It is very sad, but this is how life is. Patience and good luck.

How about making something (a picture maybe) of your cat that they can remember him or her by? Other than that lots of time and love. It's ok to be sad when a family member dies.

A bit late to this but we made a photo book online with our favourite photos. Printed a copy and the DC still look at it. DD even took it in to school to show everyone which was lovely for her.
