Following my question yesterday about dog groomers in Cambridgeshire can anyone who either is one or uses one tell me what actually happens when you take your dog in?
And how much money am I looking at roughlyish?

thanks!

My mums Golden Retriever has her feet sorted (fur between the toes and under her pads), her skirt trimmed and that's about it.

My mum does it though herself cos her groomer mate showed her how! (she used to pay about a tenner or so)

thanks Lewis. They are the main things I think our dog needs, maybe a bit of tlc on his ears as well, he's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel so they are long and it's a nightmare to keep on top of matted bits - he creates them everytime he scratches!

We've got a Lhasa Apso and he was at the groomers on Saturday. She definitely plucked his ears because she picked up on a slight infection that has just cost me £40 at the vets

Well good to hear his ears were done, but shame about the vets bill phoenix!

And a bit more impetus for us to go, don't want doggiebeanbag picking up infections in his ears.

They do whatever you want them to do (within reason). My springer is done twice a year, and has the following:

coat shaved
ears cleaned, trimmed and tidied
tail trimmed
nails clipped
any matted bits between toes removed
bath and shampoo
willy hair trimmed

They attach him to a sort of Heath Robinson table contraption to do all this, and it takes about an hour.
I think I pay about £30, but am not sure. I have it done when he is in kennels, so it just gets added to the bill.

I think our dog has those things done too muffin, it cost us £18 last week. He definitely had

coat shaved
ears cleaned, trimmed and tidied
tail trimmed
bath and shampoo
willy hair trimmed

She has clipped his nails before but i don't think she did this time.

ooh thanks everyone, feel a bit more enlightened. Rofl at willy hair - he needs that done as well
