Large rabbit hutches

Any recommendations? Getting two bunnies so they aren’t alone but a lot of hutches look a bit pokey. Looking for one with a run but they will get to hoo about the whole garden supervised when we can.

I’ve had a google but they seem quite small for two flop ears.

I got a chicken coup - much bigger and fox proof. I’ll try and find a similar link.

Instead of looking for large hutches , which can cost a bomb ! , providing you have space have a look for a small shed that you can add a sleeping / toilet play area to .
this way you can also add a couple of shelves high up for food spare bowls etc .
You will need to make sure the wood is pet / chew friendly or line it with very smooth tough plastic

Something like this - www.wireshop.co.uk/product/chicken-coop-cc046-2-4-hens/

Hutches and chicken coups are too small - get a shed with a run.
All the information here, if you browse. rabbit housing

I would go for a shed with a run added or an outdoor aviary

A friend of mine has a shed for her rabbits. She built lots of ledges and shelves for inside for the rabbits to hop on so they can look out the windows if they want

It also has good ventilation in it. She added a run so they go can in and out at their own pleasure though she locks them in at night for their safety

Agree with shed, hutches were designed in the war as a holding pen before rabbit pie, not for living in.

They like to stand on their back legs and not have their ears touching the roof. As they are crepuscular they do most of their running about when you are in bed so although having access to the garden is great they still need to have lots if space

Apologies for mis-spelling 'coops'. I had a feeling it was wrong but didn't check. Beware chickens, they're planning coups everywhere.

PacifyLulu · 07/06/2021 16:07

Whoops. I stated with the coups. Those chickens are sneaky....

Thanks all! Shed isn’t immediately possible so I’ve found a really large chicken coop with enough space to pop in a hopping shelf or two, thanks all!

And it has a run.

Do you have a link please? I'm interested too! Smile

I would recommend these guys:
www.thebigrabbithutch.co.uk/outdoor-suppliers.html

A lot of chicken coop style things are not as big as they look and can come up very small and inadequate for rabbits with steep ramps.

Shahlalala · 09/06/2021 12:33

@MamaOfWobbles it was on FB market place but actually the link just above looks better.

I use to have giant rabbits. I had a wooden children's play house for them. They lived until old age in it. I built a ramp inside and put wire over windows to stop foxes.
