Pet Taxi

Anyone used a pet taxi?

After years of wanting a dog I have finally talked the family into having one and I have paid a deposit on a rescue dog which is currently in foster 50 miles away. Just when I need my car to collect it, my car broke down last week and is not booked into a garage till next week.
I e mailed various companies for quotes and many only want to act as a courier service. I have found one but they want £345 which seems an awful lot to me- I thought it would be about £150. Of course they would be returning to their base so although they are taking me 50 miles they actually do 100 but still seems excessive or is this what is usually charged?

Hi OP.

I offer pet taxi services and charge £10 per hour plus mileage, if that's any help at all. I would charge from the time I left home to the time I deposited the dog with you. I wouldn't charge for my journey home from your house.

Have you asked a local dog walking or pet-sitting companies to help?
