HI
im sure that an unknown neighbour is giving my cat milk or something else dodgy and its giving him bad diarrhoea im sure of this because we have kept him in the whole weekend and his poop started getting better.

he's an out-door cat so it would be cruel to keep him in all the time, ive been searching for a collar which asks people not to feed the cat but had no luck, can anyone suggest anything i can do?

Tell your cat never to take anything from strangers.

You could get an engraved name disc on his collar that reads "Do Not feed" ? Other than that its difficult as cats do what the hell they like (mine does anyway )

titchy · 19/11/2007 10:00

Agree - get a disc engraved - maybe saying 'On special diet - DO NOT FEED - CAT MAY DIE' just to make the point - might need a large disc though!

Slouchy · 19/11/2007 10:03

But if the neighbour knows the cat well, he's not going to look at the collar to check its name is he?
I'd have a word if it were me. Along the lines of 'Poor old cat, he's really been poorly recently. vet says he may need a special diet. And he can't have any milk, poor sod, what a sham,e cos he loves it'.

ArmadilloDaMan · 19/11/2007 10:03

NOt everyone looks at collars.

IS it worth putting some posters around local neighbourhood? Pic of cat and writing saying 'please do not feed, due to medical condition this could make cat very ill'.

You can make shit up if you like.

Why do people insist on giving cats dairy?

Slouchy · 19/11/2007 10:06

Dur, its an UNKNOWN neighbour. Sorry, did not read OP properly.
The pictures on lamposts are a good idea.

MissLapinToYou · 19/11/2007 10:10

Get him a tshirt that says "Do not feed"

Saturn74 · 19/11/2007 10:11

And put flyers through doors in local area.

CodDickinson · 19/11/2007 10:23

lol at ashitr

it shodul read
" you feeda me milk - i crappa on your bed"

VictorianSqualor · 19/11/2007 10:24

If you do want to put something on the collar, do what I did when someone kept pinching my cat!

I wrote a note about how she was much missed by my children etc and put my address on it.

Then I folded the note around the collar and sellotaped it round, there was no way anyone was missing that!

frootloop · 19/11/2007 11:32

well i tried telling him not to take food from strangers, how it was dangerous and was making him ill but he just glared at me before going back to sleep.

think i will try the engraved disc and a note around his collar, no way they could miss both.

Try here

twinsetandpearls · 29/12/2007 19:33

Can you not get him an automatic speaker on his collar rathe than a bell that yells out every five minutes

"Lay of the milk you are giving me the shits"

twinsetandpearls · 29/12/2007 19:34

I love those collars, may order some for our cats,

frootloop · 29/12/2007 20:23

i forgot i started this thread.

taken cat to the vet because he was still having diarrhoea (and poo incontinence, ill never eat butterscotch angel delight again)

the vet thinks he has a dietry intolerance, bought on by this stupid fecking neighbour and now we have to keep him on a special diet for life, give him tablets for the next week and send off a poo sample in case he has inflammatory bowel disease.

im going to start keeping the cats used, diarrhoery litter so when i find out who made him sick i can go round and dump the whole lot on their doorstep
