Pets or good housekeping? Which is THE hoover to use when you have a shaggy dog...

My carpet is looking hairy and i am taking hours to try and get it de-fuzzed.
We have flooring down stairs but carpet on the stairs and that is where he tends to sleep at night.
Which type would you recommend as my dyson is crap with this particular problem...

We have a pet attachment for our dyson that is fab! May be cheaper to see if you can buy one of these instead of a whole new hoover

We have 3 cats (7 to start wth) and we have a Kirby - Large, pricey but they last and suck like mad!

I am seriously considering shaving our short-haired dog and getting her a coat. I seem to spend 75% of the day yelling at her to lie down as she leaves hair wherever she goes.

Why did I get a dog?

I have a dirt devil hoover with attachments.

I have a dyson animal for our shaggy pooch, it works pretty well.

No idea about a hoover, but wondered if you groom your dog at all... that way most of the hair should be in the brush...

sorry didn't read OP properly about having a dyson already. I just use the attachments for stairs etc.

Ditto naily - Miele is the business.

We use the vax upright 2000w, and it is the best vaccume (SP?) we have ever had. we have 2 dogs, albeit, short haired, but one who sheds all the time (And she is white, so shows up on everything) We get through so many vaccumes (SP?) as we have to run it round twice a day. we have had this one for about 18 monyhs now and is the best one so far.
