chickens

anyone here keep chickens? am finding it addictive!- v relaxing, plus great as they eat all your left-overs (you know, that 30% the govt has just discovered we throw away)

I'd love some chickens!! What type of hen do you have? They're so cute aren't they?
My ideal life would be beautiful slate house in Keswick with lots of land and chickens, rabbits, dwarf goats and ponies.
Dh used to have chickens in his younger days and when it rained they used to go into the kitchen!

we have allsorts now- 1 black rock, 1 maran, 1 cream legbar (waiting for her to start laying - should be blue eggs!) 1 white leghorn 1 ancona bantam and 1 polish white crested bantam....plus DS2 has just got some of his own!....I said it was addictive!
