BLOODY FIREWORKS

My poor cats are having to put up with MORE fireworks. Been going for nearly 3 weeks EVERY NIGHT!!

They're absolutely terrified (well one is the other is amused by them and watches them out the window) she's had to be locked in the living room with us as the only time she was allowed out of here, she peed on a pile of clothing she was sitting on when a huge one went off.

Is anyone else having trouble with fireworks still?

Yeah they're still going off here too. Not so much during the week but every bloody weekend. Just when my cats think it's safe and start to relax, they go off again! GGRRR!!!

We have had some over the way tonight but not very loud so the cat is on her usual chair. We were going to do our other box tonight but DS1 didn't want too as he is poorly.

Our Great Dane is trembling on his bed. I expect him to put his paws over his eyes & ears at any moment. He is very Scooby-Doo-ish. If I go and sit in the kitchen, he will try and park his 10.5 stones on my lap - unlike Shaggy, I can't carry my dog!

This is the 3rd weekend of big firework displays - we live 2 miles from everyone else but we're on a hill so can see and hear for miles.

Two of ours are trembling too. Every sodding night.

I've now got a cat on my knee, I know fireworks are meant to be fun but I'm right in the middle of a housing estate and I just panic everytime one goes off as it's near enough to be heading for our front room.

I can't even remember a night without fireworks its been going on for so blooding long....

Even I was scared last weekend, we live in a city so thousands of houses all letting off fireworks (sounded like they all were anyway!) it really did sound like a war was going on. No wonder my poor cat is terrified. She's being a bit more brave tonight, sitting next to me rather than her usual spot behind the sofa under a cushion!

Blooding?? I obviously couldn't decide between bloody and bleeding!

sullysmum · 10/11/2007 19:45

Blooding ........good word for all the fireworks and morons who are lighting them!

LuckySalem · 10/11/2007 19:48

I really want to grab one and put it down someone's throat and light it!!

"You like fireworks? How do you like them now?"

I think blooding () fireworks should be banned from public use. They should be allowed for organised and approved displays only. Then at least we wouldn't get sodding fireworks every night from Mid-October til the beginning of January!

LuckySalem · 10/11/2007 19:51

I dunno if I'd go that far, maybe we can say you can only have 1 box per year UNLESS you're an approved etc....

We get them in August too with our local council!
