Has anyone seen this on their dog before?

I have a 5 year old golden retriever. Last night I noticed this small lump on the upper top of his leg. Its about the size of a skittle (we actually thought it was a skittle squished into his fur) but its very much attatched to his skin. Its more flesh like and squishy, not really hard at all. Has anyone seen this on their dog? Very worried it could be a sinister lump!

Is it a tic?

Soubriquet · 03/04/2021 09:03

Looks like a wart

My Goldie has similar, the vet checked it last week and said it was a skin tag

Yes my 5 year old dog has one. Vet said it's a little lumpy of fatty tissue. Told me to not fiddle with it and she wouldn't remove it as it can do more harm than good.

@Hoppinggreen oh really, god feel a bit of relief hoping its the same.
My hubby also thinks it looks very wart like!

@HollyBollyBooBoo awh thank you! Will leave it alone now as I said I though it was a skittle squashed in there from my son or being outside or something, quickly realised it wasnt!

Good luck with the vet.
If they mention hystiocytoma (sp?) it’s not cancer. Benign and resolves itself. My dog had several!

Ah my lab v had a couple of them , they were warts and did not cause him any bother apart from one on his hip when he clouted it on the door frame it blead like buggery for a few mins but then he was fine . we decided to have that one removed though because he had a habit of barrelling through doors and we didnt want it to happen again
