For the last three months a cat keeps visiting my mum at her house - we have a family cat who already lives there, a female cat who keeps to herself. When this big handsome boy cat started coming round we were worried - as there have been previous aggressive males that have fought with her before. He has a collar but we don't know where he lives.
Whenever he does meet her in the garden etc he seems to have submissive body language and slopes off. He managed to rush in the door a few times and guzzle down the rest of our cat's food - but we have never fed him. I had never seen a cat do this before - as though he was utterly starving. You can feel his spine some but I think he is just a young slim cat?
In any case he has begged to get in a few times now when it is torrential rain outside. My mum has held stong & refused to let it in or feed it for 2 months. Until tonight! Lashing with rain, the cat begged to be let in for up to an hour. She eventually relented and it came in exhausted and slept for an hour before leaving again.
I have her cat at the moment (well she's really my cat but I lived abroad for ages and we now have shared custody!) so that wasn't an issue. I don't see how she is going to shake this cat and do you not all think it is bizarre for a cat to beg to be let in during downpours rather than go home?
