TTC - worried about coping with dog and baby

Hi!

DH and I are going to start TTC this summer (eek) and I am worried about coping with my fur baby and a human baby.

Just to add a layer of stress, twins run in both our families (non identical) and I think I’m likely to have twins as a result.

At the moment we have a good routine: two walks a day, structured sleep and meals, and he’s 100% housetrained. My dog is 8 months old at the moment and he is 65lb; he’s lean and he’s going to make 110/120lb as an adult.

I think he will be realistically at least 18 months or 2 years old by the time baby/babies arrive/s.

Please can I hear your wisdom? I want to continue his routine but I’m a realist and I know it’s unlikely!

My dog was 2 when my first DD arrived and it was fine. Lots of walks with the baby in the sling. It's only once I had my second that things got much more complicated. I can't take both kids in the double buggy and the dog out. Unfortunately dog is last down the pecking order so doesn't get to dictate the 'schedule'. We have a dog Walker for the days when DH is working away
