my cat had kittens 7weeks ago and they are all thriving. There is one particular one who i presumed was the runt of the litter, she is fairly small and not a boistorus (sp?) as the others and would much rather cuddle me than chase a ball like her brothers and sister. Well....

I was just playing with her and as she gripped my finger with her tiny paw i noticed she had 6 toes on both of her front paws

i cant believe ive never noticed before! and with it being haloween im pretty spooked now lol

is it normal?

I was always told this was a sign of in-breeding!!!

Has she been hanging around her brother?

iliketotrickortreat · 31/10/2007 15:50

nope, dont even know if she has one!!

Some people have more than 5 fingers or toes per hand or foot. So, while its unusual, I doubt its abnormal in any way.

Sounds like a cute kitty and I'm not really a cat person!

The technical term is polydactyly - we see it from time to time in cats and I have seen it more rarely in dogs. Mostly it does not affect their quality of life at all.

I have heard about this so would assume it isn't a big problem. You must keep her.
