Dogs with Diabetes

Hi All, looking for some positive stories here. It looks likely that my dog has diabetes. Due to a number of symptoms we’ve noticed recently- excessive thirst and the frequent need to pee and just sleeping all the time, we took him to the vets. They highly suspect diabetes and did a prick test. They now want him in for the whole day and possibly overnight to monitor him and check his levels etc. He’s a 10 year old Mini Schnauzer so it’s on the cards. I’m so sad for him and worried about what’s to come. Does anyone have any positive stories to share? Thank you xx

A family dog (not mine) is 13 and has diabetes. After a period where she seemed really unwell, she’s being managed with medication and is doing fine, back to her old self. I don’t know much about the ins and outs but she seems to have it under control. I do know it took a lot of to and fro with the vets to get the medication right. Good luck!
