This is about the fourth time he has disappeared. I am sure he does it on porpose to get me worried. He was netured last year and I thought he would stop doing this. Haven't seen him since wednesday night, I better start phoning all the vets tomorrow, he is mircochipped though, so I thought that if he is at a vet they would have scanned him.

Oh no

Is there a friendly 'second home' where he might be going do you think? i.e. somewhere where he gets more food?

sparklygothkat · 22/10/2007 21:24

this is the first time he has disappeared since we moved house. ALl the other times were at our old house.

Get lots of posters out and about to look for him. People may have shut him in without realising it in a garage or shed. They hopefully will go and look if they see posters around. Call the local vets, pet shelters etc too - yes they should have scanned for a chip, but just in case for some unusual reason they did not find it - or did not scan him. Also call the microchip company and register him as missing with them. It may make a difference in the future if he does turn up as "someone elses" cat and happens to get scanned and the chip registration checked - just to prove you were actively looking for him.

Good luck

Lucycat · 22/10/2007 21:29

Might still be worth a phone call - just to rule it out?

Really hope he comes home once he realises it's a bit chilly outside.

let us know won't you?

CarGirl · 22/10/2007 21:32

do you think he could have got scared by fireworks????

Ours did a huge wee in the house yesterday, everyone told me rush him to the vet in case it was urinarty tract infection. Have reinstated the litter tray which he is now happily using. He is now petrified of sudden noise in the house and off the fireworks outside - think he has been majorly spooked he wanders in the garden for a drink and then straight back in

sparklygothkat · 22/10/2007 21:33

Last time he went missing for a month!! Came back all fat and happy!! I refusd to panic straight away because he does this regularly

Oh poor cat

Hope it reassures you to know our old cat (years and years ago) went for a fortnight at a time, would always reappear at Mum's (where I lived with him forst) so there's always hope. Also- one cat I cared for temporarily returned home eventually, 40 miles away after a year! It DOES happen!

sparklygothkat · 26/10/2007 11:50

he disappeared for a month before and just appeared in the garden, so he has a habit of doing this.

Are you far from where you used to live? One of the reasons 9aprt from Sis can find us very sick cats) that we rehome from Somerset is because its a complete change of environment- a bonus for cat thats been abused of course

sparklygothkat · 01/11/2007 20:40

had a message left on answer phone today from one of the local vets, a cat matching nemo has been spotted about 6 miles away. dh went to the area and called him, asked about, but couldn't see him. will phone the vets tomorrow and get more info..

Ooh I really hope you find him. Get lots of posters up in that area too in case someone there is feeding him and recognises him for you
