DS1's fish always looks poorly

It's a shubunkin, we've had it a few weeks and i clean it out once a week. the water goes cloudy again really quickly though. It's fed twice a day (just 1 or 2 flakes) and always looks for more but i don't want to overfeed it. It just doesn't look well. It's top fin lies flat and it floats rather then swims. Is that right or is he on his way out?

Arene't you supposed to feed it as much as it will eat in one go? 1 or 2 flakes is nowhere near enough if I remember what our fish used to eat

Go to your local good aquarium supplier and get a water test kit and some feeding advice. New aquariums are very susceptible to problems until they get a more natural balance of good bacteria established. Changing the water is necessary but needs to be done with water treatment too to protect against the chlorine we add to our drinking water in the treatment plant, and to add natural bacteria into the tank too. If the water is going cloudy then you probably have the wrong pH (acidity) for the stones you are using etc - again test kits can check all of this and if necessary other water treatments added at the water changes.
Sadly too many fish are sold with poor advice about these management things.
