She was 7 and was getting old and developed a virus they said - she had been poorly for a few days.

My DP bought her for me on my 17th birthday and she was a house bunny - so lovely. Her name was Genevieve.

When i was 18 i was pregnant and was moving around alot so she stayed with my mum and I never got her back, but she had a lovely happy life there.

I just feel guilty that i never brought her 'home'

Anyway just wanted to say Love You Gennie - and Ill miss you xxx

kitsandbits that is so sad. I'm sorry that you had to lose Genevieve.
I had a house bunny called Bodington and I know how much of a true pet that they can be.
Don't feel guilty for not bringing her home, you knew that she was being well looked after, moving around alot would have unsettled her and having a new baby would have taken up a lot of your time.I think you did the right thing

Im sad about my DS going round there because he loved her and fed her and changed her water everytime he went (even if it had done minutes before he insits on doing it again!)

And next time he goes she wont be there.

Or the hutch, which may freak him out

does he know about dying yet?
I told my dc's that their fish had gone to heaven and they didn't need the tank because God had built them their very own pond and was going to look after them as they had been poorly Oh no!! think I'm going to cry now. Darn kids!! Why do they have to make everything twice as bad? You feel your pain...then you feel theirs!!

PMSL

yea, hes only 2.10 so im not sure he understands.

He said good bye to her and i told him she was going to heaven to see baby jesus.

and he acted sad but i think he will still expect her to come back tomorrow or something.

I dont think he understands the finality of it!

Nice touch with the big fishpond

Its nice to think so isnt it?

Yes, I like to think of my pets like that too. That big old bunny warren in the sky.....bloody watership down does nothing for my healing process!!!!
