19 year old cat poos everywhere

I have a 19 year old cat who I’ve had since he was a kitten.

He’s always been a bit of a pain about his litter tray and will only use it if it is spotless, but when he was younger and went outside it was less of an issue as he would usually go outside to poo

The last couple of years he has lost his hearing and we are not happy with him going outside unless we are in the garden with him. He’s not fussed about going outside either.

However, he literally poos on the floor at least 3 or 4 times a day, even with his litter tray clean! We come down in the morning to several poos on the floor and then he does it throughout the day too .

It’s honestly becoming absolutely awful.

He’s really happy though and doesn’t seem unwell. He had blood tests and a scan down when he first started doing this and all fine.

Any ideas?

Ps. We have 2 litter trays for him as well

We have exactly the same issue.
Our 17 year old cat always used the litter tray but just doesn't now.
Likewise he is ok health wise and checked out by vets.
Our vet doesn't think there is anything else we can do.

As cats get older this is what they sometimes do. Mine was 19 and was the same. I think its part of their old age.

hey lovely, have a kid that does the same heres what i do, grab its grubby hands and spray it with some water, also hydrates it. hope i helped xx

I don't think there is anything you can do except marvel at your cat's grand old age. I have three cats, two are 17 and one is 16. They have a catflap which they all use but sometimes we have accidents in the house which I put down to laziness or bad weather :)
