We have two gorgeous new kittens who we picked up on Saturday. One of them is about 11 weeks old, very lively, full of energy and very playful, but his little belly seems to be increasingly bloated and distended as the days go by. It’s particularly obvious after a meal, but even before a meal it’s getting quite prominent too. He wees often in his litter tray but for a couple of days I’m not sure if/how many times he has pooed. (Not sure because second kitten may have been leaving the poos rather than him perhaps - they have separate trays but kitten 2 is still a bit hit and miss as to where she goes.) I am getting a bit concerned about him - he had a tiny smear of something sloppy around his bum a moment ago, and I’m wondering if he could be constipated with a bit of leakage? Or else worms? I am hoping it can’t be anything too sinister as he is otherwise so alert and energetic, and eating well (always seems starving, tries to pinch the other’s food as well as his own), and also purrs constantly, and when tired sleeps contentedly, no signs of discomfort etc.
Does anyone have any thoughts? I plan to phone the vet tomorrow morning in any case.
