Is the vets monthly pay plan worth it?

Hello all,
We're getting a Shih Tzu at the end of the month and I've been looking at various costs. Is it more cost efficient to pay into a monthly care plan with our veterinary surgery or to pay the costs of worming, flea treatment etc as they come up? Its £13.50 a month, and covers vaccinations, worming and lungworm prevention, flea treatment, nail clipping and tick prevention, amongst other things. It seems like it covers a lot, but I have no idea what these treatments would cost individually, or what we would actually need out of them all. Any advice would be great.
Thanks!

Your vet should be able to to do a cost comparison for you. Ime for dogs it's almost always cheaper to do the health care plan, especially in the first year.

OK, thank you @BrightSunshineDay. It seems quite reasonable to me, I just wanted to check that it wasn't too good to be true.

I do it for mine and think it works out cheaper plus they send me reminders when hes due etc and i just pick up supply every 3 months
I also get free nurse appt which is handy and a slightly cheaper vet appt
I was able to change flea product i used as well and wasn't confined to just one choice as found the one i was using irritated my dog
