I have now given my cat his second dose of flea treatment in 2 weeks and he is still scratching like mad, he has never been this bad before and i think he keeps getting infested when he visits an unknown neighbours house.
im quite worried because he is starting to look really raggedy and scruffy and think he's being bitten quite alot as i have found some huge lumps of dirt that turn a reddy colour on damp cotton wool. can anyone reccommend what i should do to de-flea him or a flea collar that actually works.

Take him to the vets. It will cost 30 quid, for 3 months of the prescription flea stuff and worming tablets. Well thats what it cost us, a lot huh.

On pet products that work:

Frontline - from pharmacy or online, no prescription required

Frontline combo - a better version of Frontline that also helps treat the environmental problem too - prescription only from vets

Advantage/stronghold - vets prescription only

Household spray - Acclaim or Indorex. If you don't treat the environment too they will continue to get re-infested. Make sure if you use another product that it gives a full 12 months
