Question on dry pet food.

I had a delivery from an acquaintance today who dropped me off a few bags of dry pet food I had asked for, for my pet.

When I opened a bag I then noticed on the bag the best before date is Oct 10th '07.

Bit of a silly question really but do you think it's OK to continue feeding dry biscuits to an animal past the BBD? I paid four pound for each bag, but considering how long it took me to get the bags not sure if it's worth asking her about it, seems such a waste, yet don't want to take the chance of making my cat poorly!

It will be fine. If it is still dry and hasn't got damp at all there's no reason not to use it. It lasts for months and months.

That was sort of my thinking too.. just needed some reassurance

Your cat will soon let you know if it's gone off!

ours is a fussy bugger over such things - she has great teeth though
