Reported to RSPCA

I get a visit from the RSPCA the other day as someone reported me to them that my rag doll cat’s hair was matted.
I’ve already booked a month ago for my cat to go to the cat groomers which will be next Saturday. Chap asked to see my cat and as soon as he clapped his eyes on him when I brought him downstairs, he said that the cat is definitely not matted that he would be concerned. He even went on to say some people just makes half malicious calls.

I admit my cat’s hair is at places matted (hence groomers appointment) but he is well loved and I didn’t get an earlier appointment as I’ve been having major garden works done so wanted to wait until that was completed. He likes going outdoors. We tried to bath him a month ago with some struggle.

It upsets me that someone couldn’t speak to me for some context instead of calling the authorities. Chap said he’ll close the case as there’s no welfare issues.

3 months ago I had a knock at the door from police to say that someone complained that I am breaking coronavirus rules as I had part of the back of my house painted. Police said I done nothing wrong as decorator wasn’t in the house and they are allowed to work outside if no symptoms etc.

I’m coming to the conclusion that both incidents of complaint may be from the same person.

I’m thinking it could be my next door neighbour but I don’t have proof. We exchange pleasantries but I don’t think they have been fond of us doing home improvements.

What annoys me is wasting police and the RSPCA time and I feel upset as I adore both my cats.

Obviously you have an idiot neighbour. Keep an eye out for which one is the curtain twitcher.
