Fleas and no pets

We’ve been using Indorex and a bloody good vacuum and we’re still battling a few fleas. (They usually bite the children!)

We don’t have pets but we know that previous homeowners had a cat. We moved recently so this has been a 4 week battle so far.

Is there anything else we can do?

Any tips to get rid of the last few bastarding fleas? Smile

We also tried Acclaim :) but Amazon stopped selling it.

We’re washing and tumble drying loads of stuff too

It's difficult though need to do everything at the same time. We had them and they died when we on holiday (think they die in about a week without a host but a human can be a host) and house was empty then cat returned with more fleas. We now have to blitz house again with flea spray / hoover, wipe down, wash bedding if on there etc.

Are humans a host? Shock had no idea!

It maybe not host exactly but they can live on human blood - a flea control leaflet says:

'While cat and dog fleas cannot breed without their preferred hosts, they can live for several months on a diet of human blood.'

I didn't realise they bit humans until our 15 year old cat slept on our bed with fleas and I woke to bites all over. First time had that in 15 years but very annoying and hard to get rid of all of them. I wish I could go on another holiday and they'ld go. Grin

I just found a tiny one in DC bedroom Sad and 3 in the living room.

They’re getting smaller and smaller in size so that’s good, isn’t it?

I wonder if the smaller size means those are the eggs hatching out.

Which hopefully means that you’ve killed the adults and it’s just the eggs to go?

I feel your pain. They really hurt and wake you up if you’ve been asleep.

I hope so!! It makes me feel so dirty Blush

And we definitely aren’t. Nor were the previous homeowners
