Anyone up for some group hand holding over the next few days?
Had to have our much loved dog PTS this week after a short illness.
Could share thoughts, ideas for distractions, coping stratergies etc.
Share our stories of the strangeness of this grief? For example i have spent the last 8 years trying to keep the doggy odour to a minimum and now i'm searching the house to find some! 😂🙄😭

@Idbemonica1 I'm here for a hand hold if you need it. I haven't had a loss myself, but have been there when my family have had cats/dogs PTS and it really is the worst thing ever. My nan was particularly attached to her cats as she lives alone so when she lost 2 of the 3 it hit her very very hard (and it's always in the worst of circumstances too 😭)
I always found that talking to her about the good memories and funny things the cats did would make her laugh or smile, so it would make her think more positively about the situation. Did your lovely dog have a full life?
I'm sorry to hear about your poor loved one, i hope you are feeling a little better today.

That's super hard. Big hug and a handhold. Talking about it helps, as does having something that will keep his memory alive, a little keepsake. We had her portrait drawn by a cartoonist, it's gorgeous ❤️ Sending much love.

Hand hold at the ready here.

Pop the collar in a zip lock type bag. You can sniff that down the line.

The pain will ease and you'll smile at the (naughty) memories in time.

I'm involved with a rescue group which has been a nice outlet, in time we will have another.

Some good tips, thank you. My husband caught me sniffing the dogs collar the other day and thought i'd lost the plot 😂.
Keeping busy has helped, and currently assembling a photo book.
Today has been the first day that i haven't been feeling sick, so small improvements being made.
