Are your vets allowing clients in yet?

Just wondering really. Our vets are still consulting in the surgery car parks and will be for some time yet.

I think the only exception is for pts.

Consulting outside is working quite well IMO but not sure if it will still work once the colder days and dark evenings set in.

Ours is still happening in the car park too I actually quite like it as our waiting room is very small so I prefer sitting in the car to wait

We had to ask a lot of times to be allowed into the consulting room with our little one. Standard procedure seems to be that we're not allowed but he was getting so distressed that they made an exception!

Mine is.
Two customers allowed in the building. One waiting, one in consulting room.
I went in the consulting room with the dog.
There was a screen (floppy) between me and the vet.
Bit of a curved screen around the receptionist.
The vet wore a mask but the receptionist didn't.
I went for the dog's boosters. The cat will need to go soon too.

To be honest, I was surprised that I was allowed in the consulting room.
There really wasn't any need.
I would have preferred to wait outside full stop.

Ours is also only allowing you into the car park and collecting from there. This is the same for everyone else I know with pets.

The only people I know who have been allowed inside are those who have sadly had to have a pet put to sleep and even then on both occasions whilst 2 people took the animal to the vets only 1 of each pair was actually allowed inside to be with their pet. Sad

I had a consult outside in the car park. They collected my dog from the car and bought him back outside to me afterwards.

I really hope this doesn't last long as he gets very distressed as he thinks we are leaving him for days again as he is still affected by being admitted for many days several years ago.

My vets still in carpark. I had to hand my dog over an operation as they would not allow me in. My dog won't go with strangers. It was awful as he had to be muzzled with three staff trying to get him in inside. I offered to go in with a mask I wasn't allowed. Needless to say the vets struggled. It causes unnecessary stress.

It's time for our cat to have the next batch of flea and worming treatments, but they won't issue them until he's been weighed, so we will take him to the door and a nurse will come and take him in and bring him back out along with the treatments.
My poor niece (she lives in another area) had to take her elderly cat to be PTS but wasn't allowed in with her Sad

Our vets started letting one person per pet in this week , I took the dog today for his jabs and a check up .

My vet is mobile but uses facilities at a local practice. My dog needed xraying, she sedated her in the car the. Took her inside, I waited outside. She did ask me to come in to show me the xrays though

I unfortunately had to have my beautiful boy bulldog put to sleep 3 weeks ago, and no one was allowed in. Still feel so heartbroken about it all as never really got to say a proper goodbye. We took him in as he was really struggling breathing but didn't know it was the end. So passed him over in the car park. Never got the opportunity to say goodbye again.
We did bring him a jumper and a snickers bar - that the vet gave to him before they put him to sleep, but still absolutely heartbroken by it all.

My dog was castrated about 5 weeks ago. We met vet outside the shop and collected outside. Not sure what the situation is like there now.
