Is this due to hot weather

Our dog is his usual self - scrounging for food, wagging his tail, jumping up and down when he sees us. He’s drinking but not enough so we keep changing his water, encouraging him. His poo is really runny and more of a mucas consistency and it’s been like that for the last two days. Is it the heat?

We are only walking him first thing in the morning and not as long as usual. He’s got a cool mat and a bed away from the sun.

I wouid ring the vet - there might be a dog D&V bug going round in your area, in which case you might need supportive diet, probiotics, electrolytes and stringing in water if they're not drinking enough.

Yes dogs get subdued and eat less when it's very hot, but even when they're not jumping around I'd expect a wag and lazy interaction.

Is he peeing normal amounts, and no darker than pale yellow?

stringing = syringing
