New (old) poster. Not posted for ages! Anyway we are getting a rescue dog imminently so need to prepare. We have, bed, food bowls, couple of toys. Dog will come with a lead and collar. What else?

Insurance I guess
Crate for car?
Harness?

Like getting a new baby I don’t want to buy a ton of stuff we won’t need. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Too obvious probably but register with a vet.
Also treats for training
Old towels for wet muddy dog after a walk
Flea/tick /wormer prob won’t need straight away
Brush for tangled fur

Enjoy your dog Smile

Oh yes doggy toothpaste and toothbrush. We did not brush our old dogs teeth until she was much older and we should have. This time we have started it from a puppy. Ask rescue shelter if dog has this done and if not I would try and start it when dog is settled and you have turned a bond.

Formed not turned!

How old?
Poo bags.
Food. What is the dog on now?
A tag for collar. A legal requirement. See KC website for info.

Yes I'll echo the toothbrush/toothpaste (my dog adores the beaphor toothpaste) and the cosy blanket. I'll also add in a brush/comb and maybe some claw clippers too.
