Cat pooing on the lawn

Hello I wondered if anyone has any ideas...my cat is a healthy 14 year old who has always been very good at doing her business in soil/bushes . Since a few weeks ago she has started to poo on the lawn underneath the washing line. We've tried to turn over some soil in another part of the garden which she did start to use but has returned to the lawn. I didnt know if anybody knew why this could be happening? Any help much appreciated. I havent called the vets because they always make us come in and my cat has only just had a check up and she seems absolutely fine otherwise

Is there any chance she has hurt her paws / claws so cant dig / bury her poo so is just using the nearest covenant place .
Or ;
could a fox badger be using her normal area as a cut through / foot path so the smell has put her off ?

To be honest cats do it but usually its on someone else's lawnGrin. I have 5 cats one of mine poops on the neighbours lawn never buries it. However he is 16 . As cats get older they do start pooping in unusual places i think its part of their old age.
