Should I be worried about my elderly cat?

Hi everyone, my cat is 15, soon to be 16 and usually in good health. She saw a vet 2 weeks ago for her annual vaccination to help with her allergies at this time of year.

Anyway every day for the last week she has been climbing on to the garden fence and then is unable to get down (not done this for about 10 years). Yesterday she wasnt there for breakfast (unheard of) because she was stuck there again. I have been up ladders to get her and have some nasty scratch marks as a result. The poor thing seems absolutely terrified.

I kept her in today but as soon as I opened the door she shot out and back up the fence.

Now she has crawled into a corner of a room she never goes in and gone to sleep. She checked out fine at the vet recently but now I am very worried. Thoughts?

How high is the fence. Does she sit on top of it and cannit jump down. Shes an old lady. Maybe her joints are getting painful and stiff.

High!! That's why she cant get down. She hasnt been on the fence for about a decade. It's the fact it has started suddenly and become a compulsive behaviour. I also dont want her getting on the other side of that fence on to the road.

And now hiding in a place she has never hid before. I am not sure what to do Sad
