What will happen with Zooplus after Brexit?

So, it is looking more and more likely that we will end up with no deal, and I currently buy all of my cat food from Zooplus. I'm concerned that prices will go up lots after Brexit - anyone know more about the subject than me and has some ideas about what to expect?

I'm wondering how much cat food to stockpile before December...

The prices might actually go down. Because I live in a non-EU country, many EU websites knock the VAT off when I order from them.

Finally, some good news!

Personally i think prices have gone up with Covid as the excuse. There are lots of online shops that sell pet foods. I buy mine online from different ones as sometimes there are offers on.
Have you tried pet supermarket and Amazon. Ive just ordered my dogfood via Amazon this month as there was an offer on.

This isn't true. Once you sell enough in a country (even if you are based outside that country), you have to register for VAT. This is called Distance Selling Regulations. Zooplus are registered for VAT in the UK. Zooplus obviously pays coporation taxes in Germany but they collect VAT in the UK and pay that VAT to HMRC. They are also VAT registered in Germany, France, Belgium etc etc.

Prices actually will go up for consumers because the pound will fall in value agaist the EURO and the cost of importing will increase because of customs checks will increase.
