Cat Trees and Kitten

Are they worth the money and do your cats use them? I want to give our kitten somewhere high to sit as an alternative to the curtains. Have you got any recommendations on size/type please?

Garden is impossible to cat proof as too many trees and ways out. We have about 20 sq meters at the side of the house that I’ve made into a courtyard style garden that could be cat proofed so thank you for that idea.
